Portpatrick & Castle
Portpatrick & Castle Kennedy Gardens
This morning you visit Portpatrick, the pretty town with lots of pastel-coloured houses. Portpatrick has its own harbour and breathtaking views towards Ireland. This afternoon you visit the wonderful Castle Kennedy Gardens, one of the most famous in Scotland. The gardens are set in 75 acres of spectacularly designed loch-side landscape, a romantic garden paradise!
Robert Burns
Robert Burns Birthplace Museum & Culzean Castle and Country Park
Today you travel along the shore of Loch Ryan and Scotland's coast to Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. The museum celebrates the early life and legacy of Scotland's national poet and is home to 5000 artefacts including handwritten manuscripts. From here you continue on to Culzean Castle & country park. This estate is home to 40 buildings and secret follies, a magnificent cliff top castle, swan pond, formal gardens and fruit filled greenhouses.
Threave Garden & Kir
Threave Garden & Kirkcudbright
You travel east this morning as you head to Threave Garden. This lovely garden is stunning in all seasons and is a haven for wildlife. Take a wander through the secret garden, walled garden and rockery with the 19th century house will be your backdrop. You then travel to the harbour town of Kirkcudbright for some free time. This town attracted many artists in the late 19th century and is still known as the artists town.
