Today you visit the world-famous Beamish, Living Museum of the North. This fantastic museum tells the story of life in the Northeast in Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian times with its machinery, furniture, realistic surroundings and trained staff in period costumes.

Your day begins with a short visit to the 'must-see' historic market town of Barnard Castle, which takes its name from the castle around which it grew. You then continue on to the vibrant city of Newcastle. The remainder of the day is yours to explore this lively and friendly destination at leisure.

Crook Hall & Durham

Crook Hall & Durham*
This morning your driver will accompany you on a very short walk (0.2 miles) to Crook Hall Gardens. This medieval hall with Jacobean drawing room, turret and gallery is set in 4 acres of gardens, described by Alan Titchmarsh as "a tapestry of colourful blooms". You then have the rest of the day to explore your host city of Durham at leisure. This captivating city has winding cobbled streets, a dramatic cathedral, and wonderful riverside walks.
