The best known resort on the English Riviera, Torquay is perfect for a holiday at any time of the year. There is a real Mediterranean atmosphere to this resort, with its waterfront shops, luxury yachts and colourful gardens.

Gresham Court Hotel (M)
We are pleased to welcome back the Gresham Court to our portfolio of small and friendly hotels. The new owners Helen and David have spent the winter months refurbishing their new acquisition and are now in a position to greet their guests old and new alike. Although not officially star rated, the trademark of this hotel will surely be the warm welcome and good wholesome food served by the attentive staff. Add to this the facilities of a bar and dance floor with entertainment and en suite bedrooms with TV and tea/coffee making facilities and we have no doubt that the Gresham Court will once again prove to be one of the most popular hotels on our tour programme. Please note: Due to the design of the hotel, there is a small lift with some stairs down to the restaurant and public areas.

Itinerary

Sunday
We make our way to Dorchester for a break for lunch (Not included) before continuing on to Devon and our hotel. This evening there will be a welcome drink before dinner for a chance to meet your hosts and fellow guests.

Monday
A free day to enjoy Torquay.

Tuesday
Today we have a circular cruise from Exmouth to Topsham on the River Exe. We then return via Exeter for free time to explore the City with its impressive cathedral.

Wednesday
A full day exploring charming Dartmoor, including a visit to Buckfast Abbey

Thursday
Today we travel to Paignton to join the Steam Railway for a round trip to Kingswear. The train travels seven miles along the spectacular Torbay coast to Churston, and through the wooded slopes bordering the Dart Estuary. The afternoon is free for you to enjoy Brixham.

Friday
A morning visit to the ancient borough of Totnes. Today is market day in this charming historical town which lies above the River dart.

Saturday
Alas we bid Helen & David a fond farewell and return home, making suitable stops along the way.

Plymouth
A full day to explore this historic naval town.

Dartmouth and Brixham
A chance to cruise on the River Dart (fare not included). Followed by an afternoon in Brixham.

Dartmoor and Buckfast Abbey
The wild beauty of Dartmoor with a visit to the fascinating Buckfast Abbey.
