This tour is not in the Brochure! Scarborough, Britain's first seaside resort, has been welcoming visitors for over 360 years and is still as popular as ever. Scarborjough is a great place to stay for a holiday or short break, with the safe, sandy, accredited North Bay Beach and South Bay being broken by a rocky headland on which stands a reminder of the past, the historic Scarborough Castle.

Accommodation

The Royal Hotel, Scarborough
The Hotel dates from the 1830's, with its grand imposing architecture, including the famous staircase and atrium whcih still bears all the hallmarks of the Regency period. Situated in an enviable location in the centre of the town and overlooking the magnificent South Bay this popular hotel will be our base for this pleasant tour. Facilities at the hotel include an indoor swimming pool, lounge, bar and restaurant. All rooms are en suite and have TV, radio, direct dial phone, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. There is a lift at this hotel.

Itinerary

Friday
We depart from East Anglia and travel to Scarborough where we check into the Royal Hotel late afternoon. Dinner tonight is served at 6.30 pm.

Saturday
A free day to enjoy Scarborough and the Hotel's facilities. Tonigh includes an entertaining " Dinner & Dance" with live music.

Sunday
Sit back and relax as we take you through some fine scenery travelling via Pickering and through the North York Moors National Park to Whitby. Here you will find that the River Esk flows due North through the centre of the town dividing it into East and West sides, linked by the renowned "swing-bridge". Whitby Abbey, St Mary's Parish Church and the picturesque 'old town' lie on the East side.

Monday
Today is spent making our way back home after what has been a most memorable short break to delightful Yorkshire.
