Tour Description
Lostwithiel is Cornwall’s hidden treasure, nestling in the Fowey River valley about 6 miles east of the Eden Project and overlooked by the 12th Century Restormel Castle. Lostwithiel is an ideal base for enjoying this super holiday which takes in the Eden Project, Mevagissey, Truro and Plymouth. Antique shops, regular fairs and auctions have made Lostwithiel the antiques capital of Cornwall. Now, with a choice of recently opened lifestyle shops, award winning restaurants, tea rooms, pubs and a produce market, the town is attracting a growing number of new visitors.

Excursions
MevagisseyFollowing a morning to explore our host town of Lostwithiel, we set off for an afternoon visit to Mevagissey. It is here that we find one of the most charming fishing ports of the South Cornish Coast, with its white and colour-washed dwellings perched on the slopes of the hills encircling the two harbours. Many of the old fish cellars in the picturesque village have been converted to modern use but their old strong walls and the unspoilt appearance of the narrow streets retain the character of old Mevagissey which is so enchanting to visitors.
TruroThe City of Truro is Cornwall's centre of administration and also a holiday centre. The main part of the City is dominated by the magnificent Cathedral. Truro has one of the best shopping centres in the West of England. There are two covered markets, plus an arcade of specialist’s shops and boat trips are available along the pretty river to Falmouth.
The Eden Project (M)Today we enjoy a full day at the nearby Eden Project. This interesting 21st century visitor’s centre successfully combines ecology, horticulture, science, art and architecture. It provides an informative and enjoyable experience while promoting ways to maintain a sustainable future in terms of human global dependence on plants and trees. The exhibits include over one hundred thousand plants representing five thousand species from many of the climate zones of the world.
PlymouthDiscover the spectacular Plymouth Hoe, the narrow streets of the Barbican and the modern pedestrianised City Centre on this super excursion. We bring the day to a pleasant conclusion by enjoying a journey across the River Tamar on the Torpoint Ferry.
