Accommodation
The Carlton Hotel, IlfracombeThe hotel is situated a short level walk from all the towns attractions including the Landmark theatre and just a ten minute stroll from the harbour. Excursions
Dunster Lynton & LynmouthOn the edge of Exmoor, Britain's smallest National Park, lie the villages of Dunster, Lynton and Lynmouth. Dunster with its imposing castle, Lynmouth, with its attractive harbour and Lynton with its superb views, are all ours to enjoy on this pleasant day out.
BarnstableThis pleasant town which stands on the banks of the River Taw, is our destination for today. What better time to visit this charming town than on market day? We return to Ilfracombe via Combe Martin, a sheltered seaside village.
Exmoor National Park & Minehead (incorporating the WSR steam railway)A full day with cameras at the ready as we meander the 48 miles through the Exmoor Forest, Brendon Hills and across the National Park to Bishops Lydeard Station near Taunton. Here we board the West Somerset Steam Railway for an exhilarating and nostalgic twenty mile journey to Minehead. The surrounding countryside is as varied as it is beautiful. The gently rolling Quantock hills and distant Exmoor, unspoilt villages and farms nestling in leafy lanes, the cliffs and coast of the Bristol Channel with views of distant South-Wales are all ours to enjoy.
