Tour Description
Pembrokeshire is a surprising place, with stunning coastal scenery, superb beaches and clean seas. Tenby, our host town has roots dating back to the time of the Norman Conquest with much of the medieval castle walls, built by the Pembrokeshire Earls in 1264 to fortify the town from Welsh rebellion, still intact. Add to this the genuine welcome you receive from the locals during your stay and you will be left with many a fond memory of your super holiday to south Wales.
Accommodation
The Cliffe Norton HotelThis privately owned hotel occupies a premier position above the North Beach and is just a short stroll into the town. Whether your visit is for a night, a week or longer, you’ll find the welcome warm, friendly and helpful. All of the 52 bedrooms have TV and tea/coffee making facilities. There is a Lift at this hotel, but some rooms are accessed via additional stairs.
Excursions
NarberthAn afternoon visit to the quaint town of Narberth before continuing on across the bluestone Preseli Mountains and along the Teifi Valley to Cenarth. A charming conservation village with spectacular waterfalls, here we visit the National Coracle centre located in the grounds of a 17th Century flour mill.
Laugharne & Carmarthen (Full Day)Laugharne (pronounced Larne) is the former home of the poet Dylan Thomas, immortalised in his work "Under Milk Wood", but it is interesting in itself as an ancient town with a Welsh castle and quaint winding streets.
Haverfordwest & St DavidsThis morning we visit the medieval towns of Haverfordwest and St Davids. Our return journey this afternoon will take us through the spectacular Pembroke National Park.
Pembroke & SaundersfootA morning’s visit to Pembroke, St Govan’s Chapel and the village of Bosherton with its fine 13th Century church and famous lily ponds. This afternoon, we enjoy free time in Saundersfoot, Tenby’s nearby neighbour.
