Back by popular demand, this tour incorporates two of the most popular counties in the country, Dorset and Somerset. Dorset owes much of its charm to its numerous picture-postcard villages and colourful towns. In Somerset, you will find the rolling hills, moors and the breathtaking beauty of the levels give this ancient county it’s well deserved reputation for being one of the most beautiful in the British Isles.

Accommodation

Sherborne Hotel
This attractive, modern hotel is located just a few minute’s walk from the centre of the historic North Dorset market town of Sherborne. Facilities here include a cosy bar, lounge and restaurant. All rooms are en suite and have TV and tea/coffee making facilities. There is No Lift at this hotel.

Excursions

West Somerset Railway
The W.S.R. is a true country branch line which takes you on a nostalgic ride back in time through lovely countryside. The historic steam locomotives, coaches and wagons, and the buildings of the ten unique stations linked by a twenty mile scenic journey makes this one of the most pleasant steam train rides in the UK. This afternoon we enjoy some free time in Glastonbury. This small town is situated some 25 miles from our hotel and is most enchanting, being steeped in history, myths and legends.

Dorchester (Wednesday - Market Day)
A morning visit to this famous market town. This afternoon, we return to Sherborne where we spend some free time.

Roman City of Bath
A full day to enjoy this much loved historical city. Why not take the opportunity to sit back and relax and join us on our optional 75 minute guided before being set down to enjoy the city at leisure.*
