Excursions

RAF Holhampton (Sunday) (M)
Today we have something a little different and exciting as we visit RAF Holmpton – the Award winning, still operational and fully restored underground command centre – the largest RAF installation of it’s type on the East Coast. Your special visit lasts approximately 1 hr, 45 minutes and includes demonstrations and shows. Whilst there are some staircases and walks, it should not pose a problem for the ambulant and the centre is air conditioned and centrally heated. The evening before your visit, a guide from RAF Holmpton will visit your hotel to tell you all about it.

York
After setting down at the designated coach park, we can make our way into this fine City with its many fine buildings and attractions.

North Yorkshire Moors Railway & Whitby
We depart the hotel and travel to Pickering to board the North Yorkshire Moors Railway for a single journey to Grosmont. We then continue on to Whitby where we spend the rest of the day. Whitby has long attracted holidaymakers who enjoy its fine beaches and strolling around its quaint streets, set around the busy harbour.

Beverley & Sledmere House
A morning in Beverley today, followed by a visit to Sledmere House situated in the lovely, picturesque Village of Sledmere. This impressive house, owned and lived in by Sir Tatton Sykes is exquisitely decorated. Inside the house a fine collection of antique furniture, beautiful pottery and many a fine painting are to be enjoyed.

Filey & Scarborough
Following breakfast, we depart the hotel and make our way to Filey for some free time, before continuing on to Scarborough for the remainder of the day. Steeped in a thousand years of history and surrounded by beauty, Scarborough is the Queen of the Yorkshire Coast, offering something for everyone.
