Excursions
MondayToday we travel to Jenbach to the “Achensee Station”. Here we take a 45 minute train ride to Maurach. We then have the option of a Cruise on Lake Achen (not included) or a stroll through the pretty village of Perisau at Lake Achen with its many cafés and small shops. We return to our hotel late afternoon in ample time for dinner.*
TuesdayToday we travel to Innsbruck, where we have a 90 minute guided City tour. Following that, we have free time for shopping. This afternoon, we enjoy a breathtaking train ride from Innsbruck to Seefeld. Here we have some free time to see the town.
WednesdayA free day for our drivers today so we make our own way to take a picturesque ride on the small steam train from Fugen to Mayrhofen. The speed will not exceed 35 km/h, which gives you plenty of time to marvel at the beautiful Ziller Valley as we make our way to Mayrhofen. This pretty town is surrounded by mountains and is home to many a colourful shop and quaint building all of which help give this enchanting place its rustic charm. Here you will have time to explore before rejoining a diesel train back to Fugen.
ThursdayOur last excursion of the week is a stunning drive over the beautiful Gerloss Pass to the quaint village of Krimmel. For the more energetic of you, why not visit Krimmel Falls. The walk commences from the edge of the village and from here there is a 30 minute walk to the first view point overlooking the Lower Falls, from there it is a 10 minute walk to the second view point, the Regenkanzel, and another five minutes to the third. We return to Fugen with perhaps time for a last look around our host town.
